The President of South-east Ndigbo, Amaka Group, Lagos, Mr. Leonard Ogbonna, has called on Nigerians and the Igbo-speaking communities in Lagos State to participate fully in the 2015 general election, urging Nigerians to trust the ability of the present government to conduct credible polls.
Ogbonna, while addressing over 58 market associations recently at the Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, during the Market Summit and Voters’ Education organised by the group, said the meeting was to sensitize members on the importance of voting for credible candidates in 2015 and participate actively in the current democratic dispensation.
He said it was to create a synergy among over 58 major market associations and Igbo professionals in Lagos.
“Government’s policies play a major role in regulating our business environment, therefore we have resolved to be part of the election process.
“The South-east Ndigbo Lagos strongly believes that President Goodluck Jonathan is the right leader at this moment. He has demonstrated his ability to deliver economic and social development since taking office in May 2010. Nigeria is being transformed at an unprecedented pace under his able leadership,” Ogbonna said.
He said in pursuance of the group’s core objective, it is seeking due collaboration with well -meaning persons and organizations and is therefore always prepared to deploy their structure for the optimal realization of mutual benefits.
South-east Ndigbo Lagos is a socio-political group of all Igbos from the South-east geopolitical zone who reside, do business or work in Lagos State and who are unrepentantly and deeply committed to the promotion and realization of the interest of the Igbo nation in particular and Nigeria in general.
