The Ogun State Government has sympathised and condoled with the Cross Rivers State Government and victims’ family members of over 30 Nigerians football fans electrocuted at a veiwing centre while watching Manchester United and Anderlet March in Calabar, the state Capital.
The state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, in a statement said Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun was shocked about the news of the sport-loving Nigerians who died in the unfortunate incident.
He prayed that Almighty God grants the Cross Rivers Government and the family of the victims the strength to bear the irreparable lost and those injured a quick recovery.
According to the Commissioner, sports, particularly the round leather game ” football” has being a major factor that is holding the unity of Nigerians together in respective of the political, religious and cultural beliefs, saying that issues sorounding lost of life’s should not be politicised.
