Monday, April 27, 2015 was a sad day at Ode Aye in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, when Blessing Felix, 15, an SS1 student of Daniken High School, Ode Aye was gruesomely murdered at her father’s residence at no 4, Jesumbo Street around 9:30 pm.
Blessing is suspected to have been struck on the head with an unknown object. Her copse was later allegedly dragged to the back of their neighbour’s house.
According to a younger brother of the deceased, Master David Taiwo, Blessing had gone to the bathroom behind their house to take a pre- bedtime shower. She never returned.
“We knew when she went to the bathroom but did not notice if she came back or not until when our daddy returned from an outing. When daddy called on her and there was no response, we all became apprehensive, “David said.
“Her dresses, the soap with which she wanted to take her bath, her tight pant that she was washing were all found on the ground,” he added.
He said they got curious and started a manhunt. They beamed their searchlight on nearby houses and buildings and asked neighbours if they sighted her anywhere.
The dad of the late girl took over the story: “I searched round for her whereabouts but all proved abortive. Just as I was waiting to see her, to my greatest shock, I spotted my child lying lifeless on the ground at one corner of the compound”.
Meanwhile, officers and men of the Okitipupa Police Division have commenced investigations into the crime.
WESTERNPOST’s efforts to speak with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO)in the area, Mr. Ifeanyi Ohuruzo, failed.
But a police source said the copse of young girl had been deposited at the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Okitipupa.
