Members of the rank and file of the Nigeria Police, Zone 2 Command, Onikan-Lagos have dissociated themselves from the purported plan by some unnamed policemen to embark on a strike action beginning from March 28, 2015.

In the weekly lecture held at the weekend at the Zonal Command Headquarters, members of the rank and file promised their continuous allegiance to the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba whom they confirmed has been working assiduously for the welfare of all officers of the Nigeria Police.

According to a press release by Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Gbenga Adeoye, the officers said they were aware and appreciative of the efforts of the IGP to ensure payments of all arrears of promotion of officers.

The police officers were unanimous in their decision to continue performing their duties and would not be found wanting in ensuring a peaceful and credible process in the forthcoming general elections.
