Students Charge to Develop Interest in Mathematics

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Osun State, Mr Festus Olajide has charged students to develop interest in mathematics as well as make it one of their best subject.
Olajide gave the advice on Tuesday at the 2019 World Mathematics day held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Education, State Secretariat, Abere.
He also urged them to always cultivate the habit of participating in competitions so as to make them to be more confidence especially when facing the public.
Olajide then commended all Mathematics teachers in the state, saying they are doing a good job in impacting the mathematics knowledge to the students.
Also speaking, the Director, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Dr. Victor Olaniyi congratulated the students for being the pioneer set of students to celebrate the event in the state.
He encouraged them to be more serious in their academics.
Also, the Chairman, Mathematics Association of Nigeria Mr. Akinsola Michael stated that mathematics is the bedrock of every subject and also the pillar of life.
Akinsola appreciated all Mathematics teachers for their efforts and also advised the students to develop interest in the subject.
The event also featured mathematics quiz competition in which Ataoja Government High School came first, Osogbo Government High School came second while Baptist Government High School came third.
