Students Union Election Turns Bloody In Ondo Tertiary Institution

No fewer than two persons were reportedly shot dead at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State when two rivalry cults group battled for supremacy.

A vengeance mission led to the killing of an Aye member who was in support of a candidate vying for the position of the Students Union Government (SUG) in the school.

On Wednesday, another student, who stayed off-campus, was shot dead as retaliation to the killing initially carried out by the Eiye group.

A student of the polytechnic who pleaded not to be mentioned confirmed that a student was shot early hours of Wednesday in vengeance to the initial killing over the election of the SUG slated for Wednesday, February 10.

Western Post further gathered that the hoodlums who are suspected cultists have been on a killing spree in the last few days within Owo township.

Meanwhile, Western Post confirmed that the student, who was killed on Wednesday was shot off the school campus.
