Sympathisers have now besieged the Asokoro, Abuja residence of late environmental rights activist and Senior Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Mr. Oronto Douglas.
Douglas, who has been battling cancer for sometimes now, died early Thursday morning.
Among the early callers at his residence, in a block of flats on top of the hill in Asokoro overlooking the lake, are the President’s aides and the deceased’s close friends.
The block of flats is said to be owned by a retired general.
Douglas hailed from Bayelsa, President Jonathan’s homestate.
Arrangements for burial are yet to be out but his corpse may likely be flown home for burial anytime from now.
Douglas is one of closest aides of President Jonathan.
He was known to be the engine room of the president in matters of politics and strategy.
