The Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has been commended for making history by setting the record in conducting a free, fair, and credible local government election in the state.
The commendation was contained in a release by the Special Assistant to the governor on OYSIEC, Mr. Tallest Innocent.
He described the governor as a leader who has distinguished himself with credible records and achievements.
Mr. Innocent said the people of the state need to be thankful to governor Makinde for organising a free and credible election with the aim of bringing development to the grassroots.
The Special Assistant who described the election as a model for the state urged the new chairmen to make sure they represent the interest of their people by carrying out projects that will be of great benefit to them.
Innocent, while commending the OYSIEC chairman, Aare Isiaka Olagunju (SAN) for fulfilling the mandate assigned to him by the governor through proactive measures, called for more synergy from stakeholders in building a modern Oyo State.
According to him, the success of the election was a sign of good things to come in the state, especially at the grassroots levels.
