But for providence, the story at the Nation Newspaper office located along Fatai Atere Way, in Matori, Lagos would have been different.
The tragedy was averted as the hoodlums who invaded the company to burn it down trapped the newspaper Managing Director, Victor Ifijeh, in the building.
WESTERN POST learned that the MD and News Editor Bunmi Ogunmodede were trapped when the marauding men who set the building ablaze emerged.
Sources said these men were no protesters. They were hooded. “It was obvious all of this was premeditated. Some people have taken advantage of the protest to perpetuate their evil plan,” said the source who pleaded not to be named.
The men set the vehicles within the premises and the main building on fire, looted the office and left when the fire was bellowing.
However, riot-policemen and Airforce officers have now taken over the premises to maintain peace.
