Kolawole Olayinka, Abeokuta
Seven months after the demise of HRM Oba Samuel Oludademu Tinuosho, three princes have signified interest in the vacant stool of Olorile of Orile Ifoland, who died last year.
The three princes jostling for the vacant seat are Prince Afeez Ekundayo Tiinuosho , Prince Adewale Abdul-Semiu Ogunjobi and Prince Taiwo Olabulo.
After the funeral passage of Oba Oludademu, the kingmakers headed by Chief Alani Adeniji Balogun and the Adele in Orile Ifo had announced the stool was vacant for a new Olorile of Orile Ifo to be selected.
According to history, four families are entitled to the stool, but due to communal clashes, the late monarch gazetted only three Ruling Houses .They are Tinuosho Sogoroye ruling house, Sobowale Afijaperi ruling house and Ogunjobi ruling family. The late monarch ascended the throne of his forefather from Tinuosho Sogoroye ruling family in Orile Ifo.
All the three candidates jostling for the stool have their lineages’ names in the past records in Orile Ifo.
Taiwo Olabulo’s forefather, Chief Olabulo Komoku was installed the 7th Baale of Orile Ifo and he was succeeded by Chief Ogunjobi, who was the 8th Baale between 1945 to 1951 and Samuel Sotade Tinuosho and Oba Samuel Oludademu Joshua respectively.
The last Olorile of Orile Ifo was installed as Baale in 2001 before he was elevated as coronet Oba in 2010 by his Royal Majesty Oba (Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okunkenu IV, Alake of Egbaland.
