National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commiserated with the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde over the demise of two first-class monarchs, Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladuni Oyewumi, Olubadan of Ibadaland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and the former Governor of the state, Adebayo Alao Akala.
Tinubu had also visited the families of the late Soun of Ogbomoso, as well as the Ogbomoso resident of Otunba Alao-Akala.
The APC presidential hopeful during the visit to Governor Makinde at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan said he shared the grief of the governor following the demise of the three prominent personalities.
The national leader of the APC lauded Makinde for demonstrating rare character despite the short notice sent to him.
He noted the late former governor and the two first-class monarchs, contributed in no small measure to the peaceful atmosphere and love in the state.
On his entourage were Chief Pius Akinyelure, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, Hon. James Faleke, Senator Soji Akanbi, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Hon Tolu Sadipe, among others.
In his response, Governor Makinde appreciated the former governor for the condolence visit.
He lauded the courage of Tinubu who deemed it fit to visit the government of OyoSttate despite their political differences.
Makinde noted that Tinubu has demonstrated that he does not play politics of bitterness.
He, therefore, wished the APC presidential hopeful the best in his future political endeavours.
“Let me also use this opportunity to wish you well in your political quest to govern this nation.
“We want the best for this country and only the best is good enough for us at this particular time,” he said.
