Speaker, Lagos State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. ( Dr ) Mudashiru Obasa, has advised traders in the state to come together to get a central power supply for their markets rather than individual power generator that usually lead to fire outbreak in the markets.
Obasa made this statement while responding to requests of Market Leaders And Traders Association of Nigeria (Lagos Chapter) led by its President, Comrade Christopher Okpala, on Tuesday, in his office at Assembly Complex, Alausa, Ikeja.
He advised the traders to constantly liaise with the Local Government Councils and Neighborhood Safety Corps in their areas of operation in order to stop the problem of blocked drainage and insecurity.
The Speaker further implored them to also help the government by paying their taxes as at when due.
Earlier, the President of Market Leaders And Traders Association of Nigeria (Lagos Chapter), Comrade Christopher Okpala, in his opening address, said they had come to pay the speaker a courtesy visit and present to him an award of Extra-Ordinary Ambassador of Commerce.
The traders stressed further that they had tagged their 2020 edition football competition after the name of the Speaker.
