Tobems Media Unveils LUOVA Group To Mark Tenth Year In Business

A Lagos -based media agency, Tobems Media has marked its tenth year in business with the unveiling of LUOVA Group, a holding company for its different units of businesses which includes Tobems Media, Tobems Production, and newly launched marketing-innovation company, Trois Sitini.

While welcoming guests to the occasion graced by Chairman, Aquila Group of companies and member, House of Representative, Shina Peller amongst other dignitaries, Toju Wilkey, Director HR & Administration, LUOVA Group explained that the epoch-making event was a dual celebration of the agency’s past 10 years of operation and a projection to its next 10 years.

In his opening remarks, President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Idorenyin Enang commended the duo of Bolaji Junaid and Tosin Obembe on the celebratory milestone achievement in operations.

Speaking on the topic “The future of marketing”  Enang outlined three attributes that make ‘the marketer of the future.’

Enang who was represented by the Group Head, Mobile Financial Services, Interswitch, Lanre Basamta, outlined the attributes of the marketer for the future to include being a ‘problem discoverer.’

“The person who discovers a problem, deserves the right to solve it. The future is such that we have to be much more than marketers, we have to be problem discoverers, we have to be partners”, said Enang.

He added that those in tune with technology and its disruptive force as well as marketers who understand customer’s impulses would thrive in the future.

“The marketer of the future is not just one that creates the spiciest campaigns but the one who understands not just the customer, but the customer’s impulse,” Enang added.

In showcasing the last decade of Tobems Media, Bolaji Junaid spoke briefly on the journey the agency undertook in the past ten years, highlighting the trajectory of the agency including his journey in the industry, working in different high-profile agencies including Insight Publicis and Ogilvy, working on both sides of the biggest cola brands- Cocacola and Pepsi, before joining Tobems Media.

He also unveiled the next phase of this journey with the unveiling of the LUOVA Group and launch of Trois Sitini, an all-rounder marketing innovation Company (Trois meaning three in French and sitini, Sixty in Swahili).

Chuka Obi, Director of Creativity & Innovation for Globacom gave a keynote address for the evening. In his remarks, he spoke about the place of innovation in creativity.

Using the illustration about America’s search for a pen to use for documentation in outer space and Russia’s innovative use of a pencil for the same purpose, Obi took the rapt-attentioned-audience on the journey on innovation, revealing that it doesn’t have to be expensive or complex.

Speaking on the anniversary, CEO and Creative Director Tobems Media, Tosin Obembe said: “When I started Tobems Media, the idea was to continually turn value to products. I decided to evolve from just video editing and camera to multimedia.

“So Tobems Media, the production company that started out with just one camera and a laptop has transformed to LUOVA Group which now has Tobems Media, Tobems Production, and Trois Sitini, an all-rounder marketing innovation company.

“And this is our own way of influencing and changing the world; it is the reason why Luova has started, it is the reason why we are here, and it is same reason we started Tobems Media.”

In the same vein, Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Shina Peller, commended how far the brand has come.

In his speech, the Chairman emphasized the need for young entrepreneurs to pay attention to details and to give their all to whatever dream they hope to actualize.

In her closing remarks, Grace Onwubuemeli, Marketing Manager, (Peak) FCWAMCO commended the Team and encouraged fellow marketers to give the LUOVA group a try as she can vouch for their competence.

Launched in 2010, Tobems media which began operation as a small video editing outfit rapidly evolved to a fully integrated marketing communications company. Its services cuts across marketing communications, multimedia production, event production, imagery, and graphics amongst others. Some of its clients include Quilox, Infinix, Tecno, Sodium Solutions, CNBC Africa, GSK, Lagos Business School, pwc, and many more.
