A Lagos lawmaker, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, in company of the officials of the Lagos State Urban and Renewal Agency (LASURA) led by Engr. Musa, on Sunday, toured areas within Somolu and Bariga affected by the torrential downpour across the state.
Olowo represents Somolu Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly and also chaired the House Committee On Finance.

LASURA is one of the agencies under the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning And Urban Development.
As an agency created by law, it is saddled with the responsibility of implementing the state policy on urban renewal and upgrading of slums (blighted communities) in the State.
Part of its mandates is to upgrade infrastructural facilities in blighted areas and also to empower communities to create a sustainable environment.
Attempt was made to restructure LASURA in year 2010 through a law to provide for the administration of Physical Planning Development, Urban Regeneration and Building Control vide Gazette No 21 Vol 43 of 16th July, 2010.
