Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has warned its operatives against undue exploitation and extortion of motorists in the cause of discharging their duties.
TRACE Corps Commander Seni Ogunyemi issued the warning in Abeokuta while addressing Supervisors, Leaders and Field Commanders of the Corps.
According to him, “the attention of the management has been drawn to the increasing rate of suspected extortion within and among field operatives as observed by members of the public”.
He said the state government was ready to invoke appropriate sanctions through relevant sections of the Anti-Graft Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria against anyone found wanting, advising the officers to be wary of any act capable of tarnishing the image of the Corps and Government.
While charging them to be disciplined, dedicated to duty and be good ambassador of the Corps, Ogunyemi charged the various Field Commanding Officers and Special Squad Leaders to ensure proper monitoring and supervision of the activities of the operatives regularly.
