True to their promise, Yoruba Nations agitators defiled heavy security presence to converge on Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota in Lagos to demand a separate country for the race.
The agitators were led by traditionalists, including women, who were decked in white attire, singing and dancing.
It would be recalled that the proposed venue of the rally was taken over early on Saturday by heavily armed security men, led by Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu.
The agitators arrived the venue shortly after Odumosu left.
Odumosu, while addressing newsmen at the protest, said Nigerians have the right to peaceful protests.
As at the time of filing this report, the protesters have been dispersed by the security men.
Police deployed water cannon and tear gas to disperse the crowd of protesters.
