Two  Sexagenarians Remanded In Prison For Defiling Minor In Ibadan

A family court sitting in Ibadan the Oyo State capital has remanded two aged men in prison for allegedly defiling a minor.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan by the State Public Relation Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oluwole Olusegun a Chief Superintendent of Corps

The statement quoted the Oyo State Commandant of NSCDC, Adaralewa Michael as stating that the two suspects were charged to court on Thursday by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit and had been remanded at Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo.

The first suspect Kayode Akinsile, 60, of Alafara Ona Ara, Ibadan was first arrested on 15th June, 2021 and was granted bail but went ahead to defile another minor and was rearrested on 7th July, 2021.

The second suspect Dr. Ajelere Ajewumi, from Oki Olodo, Ibadan was arrested for illegal adoption and defilement of a 14years old girl.

The Chief Magistrate, P. O. Adetoyibo of Family Court 2 Iyaganku, Ibadan after hearing the charges against the two suspects remanded them till September.

Commandant Adaralewa Michael said that the two suspects were arraigned after Forensic/Medical examination and thorough investigation.

He advised parents to be more responsible in caring for their children

The Commandant warned those who still indulge in defiling minors or assault women to desist as NSCDC will deal decisively with anybody caught in such act.
