UNILAG Contributed To What Lagos Is Today-Ambode


Governor Akinwumi Ambode today said University of Lagos, UNILAG, is one of the organisations in Lagos State that has contributed to her development .Ambode said this when the alumni paid him a courtesy vist which was led by the National President of the alumni, Olorogun Sonny Kuku.

In his address the President of the alumni, Dr Kuku noted that the alumni have watched Ambode closely for two years ,and they are proud of his success story being an alumni of UNILAG, proud that Ambode is the first graduate from UNILAG to become the first executive Governor of Lagos State.

Dr Kuku who presented a letter to Ambode, inviting him to the next distinguish alumni event which is going to be in honour of the Governor of Lagos State ,alongside the Vice -President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who also as an alumni of UNILAG, has contributed to the development of Nigeria.

Ambode in appreciation thanked the executive members of the UNILAG alumni and promised his presence at the event, noting that being Governor of Lagos State is a position of service, providing what is profitable for people to live in Lagos,and he is grateful for the kind of education he had while studying at UNILAG.

According to him ‘Whatever Lagos is today, in those 50 years, the product of UNILAG has added value to the state.We are ready to support the school in every capacity, to give student a good learning environment’.

Other alumni executive who came in with the President of UNILAG to pay a courtesy visit to Ambode include Otuba Seni Adetu, Professor Ibidapo Obe and Dr Fassy Yussuf.
