President Donald Trump has ordered that US flags be flown at half mask following the Sunday night massacre in Las Vegas, US which left over 50 people dead and “well over” 400 injured.
In what is said to be deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, the incident occurred when a gunman opened fire on concertgoers from a perch above the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Police say 406 people were transported to hospitals in the area in the wake of the horrific attack.
In a short speech on Monday afternoon, an emotion-laden Trump said he would visit Las Vegas on Wednesday to assess the extent of the massacre.
YahooNews reports that the “nonstop gunfire,” according to one witness, sent more than 22,000 attendees of a country music festival across the street from the hotel ducking for cover and scrambling for their lives.
Police say the suspect, who was found dead in his hotel room, had over 10 rifles.
