The Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen in Islam, Alhaji (Professor), Sabit Ariyo Olagoke has charged the Federal Government to use the occasion of the Independent celebration to transform Nigeria, and improve on the political and economy structure of the nation.
Professor Olagoke made the submission while reviewing the activities of Nigeria since its independence in October 1st, 1960.
According to the cleric, the government has a lot to do to improve the economic and political structure of the country in order to bring peace and stability to the people and the entire polity.
He said: “Government must not toy with the right of the people, they need to consider the seven-point agenda regarding the constitution, security, youths matters and then, the employment’s saga.
“To avoid the threat of the South-South, South East and South West from snowballing into crises, the government still has the time address all these issues so that Nigeria can continue to be one nation.”
Alhaji Olagoke said religious leaders have great roles to play by reforming religious houses and the people for the right values in the country.
He said the essence of religious houses is to role model and ensure that our activities yield positive results.
According to him, religious houses are the last hope of the common man and must try as much as possible to be upright so that necessary intervention which is an antidote of development will take place.
Professor Olagoke who advised politicians to work hard to restore lost values like discipline, and other ethical practices in the system of the country said this no doubt will make the education sector and others function very well.
He said the political gladiators who are products of our culture must try as much as possible to realize that they need to embark on measures that will transform society.
The cleric also charged them to allow internal democracy to thrive in the political activities of the nation, where merit will rule over everything.
