…as card reader machines almost mar exercise

After the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled to hold last week Saturday comes up today 23rd February 2019, voters in Kwara State came out in their large numbers to elect leaders to pilot the affairs of the country for the next four years.
At 9:00am when our correspondent visited Gbabiabidun II of Balogun Fulani Area of Ilorin South Local Government Area,voters were seen on rows been accredited so as to cast their votes.
Speaking with an old woman who lamented that she has her PVC but could not vote because her name was not on the list.
Similarly, another middle age man gave the same compliant of not been able to exercise his franchise because he could not see his name on the list provided by the Election Umpire.
At Ode Imam Ijeta 011 of Baboko in Ilorin west local government Area,voters said the card readers machine could not authenticate their voter cards so they resulted to manual accreditation in order to cast their votes.
Also at Ode magaji of Baboko,voters were seen on queue casting their votes after been accredited an hour behind schedule time.
Meanwhile at 11:45am voters at Alanamu ward told our correspondent that there was no National Assembly ballot boxes for voting at the polling unit.
Reacting to the development, the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) official Adenike Ola said once the candidate name does appear on the list he or she would not be able vote.
