The Kwara State Coordinator Atiku Campaign Organisation, Dr Ali Ahmad has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would emerge victoriously in February 2019 election in the country.
Ahmad said this at the occasion of official opening of the state campaign office, held on Friday in Ilorin.
“It is pertinent to inform you that the Atiku Kwara Office is comprised of seasoned grassroots politicians who were carefully selected across the state to achieve the desired result. in time distinguished themselves on various assignments given by the Party.
“We believe Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will emerge victorious in the coming election across the country. Our task is simply to ensure that the victory in Kwara is astounding,” he said.
According to him, the organisation’s job, however has been made easy due to the fact that Kwara State under the leadership of the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON) has always spoken with one voice, this time around it won’t be different.
“We have done it in the past, we can still do it again. It is time for Kwarans to once again prove to the whole world that we reward quality leadership, astuteness, competence and capability.
“Our job in this organsiation is to deploy the massive political machinery of our structure for Atiku and Obi Presidency. Our job is to convince Kwarans on the other side to see what we in this side have seen when we turned our back against them. In the beginning we stood by them and fought for them until victory was achieved. But then we discovered they have failed and the failure is incurable. So we see no reason why any Nigerian will persist in this venture that takes no one anywhere.
“Now let me throw these challenge to us: Why should any Nigerian, indeed any Kwaran, not vote for Atiku/Obi ticket? Why would you as a Kwaran not vote for a Party that will ensure that the daily deterioration of security situation of the country is halted? Why will any Kwaran not vote for the Party that has demonstrated it can provide the much needed job to our teeming youth by promising that 40% of his appointments will be populated by the youth?,” he asked.
He noted that presently about 9,300,000 school children are said to be fed every day across the country under one of their opaque programmes adding that there is not a single pupil from Kwara State that currently benefits.
“Will you not vote for Atiku/Obi who will reverse this trend within their first 100 days? Of course, Kwara enjoys no special privilege from this Administration, we expected that. What we did not envisage is denial of Kwara and Kwarans our legitimate entitlements. So many examples are out there but one will suffice.”
He said the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as an entrepreneur has what it takes to provide employment opportunities for the nation’s teeming youths who now wondered the streets.
“His government will provide enabling environment for business to thrive and that would automatically attract investors to the country. Since government cannot provide jobs for every individual, the best it can do is to create conducive atmosphere for companies to grow and absorb more Nigerians while the nation’s economy will be better for it. This is what Alhaji Abubakar Atiku stands for.”
He enjoined Kwarans and Nigerians to vote wisely and ensure Alhaji Abubakar Atiku secure the mandate to lead the country to greatness as the country cannot afford to let this opportunity slip by, adding that, “In four years time, we should be counting our blessings and not wallowing in abject poverty, we should use our votes to send incompetent and incapable government away. They have been tested and have failed millions of Nigerians.
“Finally, May I also inform Kwarans, political associations, Atiku Support Groups, Friends of Atiku that the Atiku/Obi Kwara Campaign Office is now open for operation 24 hours. Henceforth, the office will be a beehive of activities, therefore the Organisation is prepared to serve and is open to various ideas, observations and advice from the public. To achieve success is our collective responsibility, together we can make Nigeria work again,” he added.
