We Did n’t Raise Nomination Fee for Gov. Akeredolu, Says Ondo Lawmaker

A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, name withheld has debunked the news making the rounds that they contributed to the N35million nomination fund for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to contest for the second term in office.

The lawmaker in a chat with Western Post said “for several years now, the Honourable members have been battling with the governor to pay our allowances ranging from furniture, car and some other benefits which he refused.

“So how come that we would raise such a huge amount of money for someone who has been suffering us?.

“It is a big slap on us and he has taken us for fools if he can come out to be saying 19 of us raised him such money. Did he pay those members a separate allowance? He has not paid us our entitlements since, so where do we get that money?.”

Meanwhile, the governor through his volunteers said on Tuesday that the Assembly members paid for his nomination form to contest for the primaries in preparation for his second term.

The assembly member, who is also an APC stalwart in his local government challenged those behind the rumor to come out and mention a few things the governor has done in the House Of Assembly that warranted them donating N35million.
