Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu on Tuesday said he would make sure that Lagos remains safe and peaceful to our people.
Sanwo-olu made this statement when he hosted the second edition of Sanwo-olu Listens, an interactive programme where the Lagos State Governor listens to the plight of the people and help with financial assistance to vulnerable citizens of Lagos State.
In his address, Sanwo-olu said “When we were campaigning we said you will talk and we will listen to the people.
“I want to say beneficiaries of today are indeed lucky.We must make sure in our little provision we touch our people. We also have a plan of market women and school children.”
Beneficiaries of the second edition of Sanwo-olu Listens got from between N2.5 million to N500,000. Some of them included an actor Yinka Ogundayisi, and a father of triplets.
Special Adviser, Office of Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, said Sanwo-olu Listens is a demonstration of the continuous aspiration of the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Administration to support struggling individuals in the state to cushion the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to her, “Mr. Governor has graciously approved the extension of the gesture to a set of 50 vulnerable beneficiaries and those whose sources of livelihood have been affected by the lockdown and destructions ocassioned by the ENDSARS protest as well as those with chronic health challenges but lack the financial power to take care of themselves.
