We’ll Ensure We make Kwara State Secure, Safe, Better, Says New CP, Bagega

The newly posted Commissioner of Police, Kwara state Command, CP Mohammed Bagega has assured the residents of his open hand and mind, willingness to work and partner with good people of the state to ensure a secure, safe and better state of Harmony.

The CP who assumed duty on 22nd of December 2020 said he would ensure government and private businesses strive without hindrance.

Bagega gave the assurance at a maiden press briefing held at the Command Head Quarters in Ilorin on Wednesday.

The Police boss assured Kwara residents of the Command readiness to tackle headlong issues of Cultism, kidnapping and rape in the state as well as ensure that Police officers observed in full their rules of engagement and protect the fundamental rights of citizens.

He said within the short period of his arrival in the state, the Command has arrested one Akewusola Suleiman of Ilorin Mini Campus Area, in Ilorin West Local Government Area,who was caught vandalizing and stealing Solar panels installed by the state government.

He said the effort is in place to arrest his accomplices, while he warned would be criminal elements that, it’s no longer business as usual in the state.

He commended the officers for law and order maintained before, during and after the Christmas celebration, adding that the task ahead of them is daunting but surmountable.

The CP solicited cooperation and collaboration of all stakeholders in the effort of maintaining the status of the state as a state of Harmony, noting that the Command under his watch would not leave any stone unturned to ensure peace and harmony is achieved.

“I am delighted to address you this morning, being my maiden briefing, since assumption of duty on 22-12-2020 as Commissioner of Police, Kwara State.

“As you are already aware, I took over from CP Kayode Egbetokun, whose friendship and leadership facilitated a  smooth handover ceremony.

“I commend him for the selfless service he rendered to the people of Kwara and promise to sustain and build on his achievement. On behalf of officers and men of the Command, we wish him the best of luck on his new Assignment.

“I held a meeting with heads of Departments,Area Commanders, DPOs, and tactical teams. We collectively resolved to ensure adequate security is provided for the people to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation, “he said.
