The Secretary to the Government of Osun State (SSG), Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, has said that he deserves to be the next Governor of Osun State after the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
Adeoti while speaking at the Secretariat of All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osogbo, on Thursday where he made official declaration to contest the governorship of the state on the platform of the party in the September 22, 2018 election stated that he was jailed in the course of the struggle by Aregbesola to reclaim his mandate.
Adeoti who was the state Chairman of the Action Congress, the platform on which Aregbesola contested in 2007 recalled that he suffered for the party as he was persecuted by the then ruling party in the state.
According to him, “As the party chairman, I suffered for the party I was jailed during the regime of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola who was the governor then on the platform of PDP.
“Now I deserve to be the governor of this state after Ogbeni Aregbesola,” he stressed.
Speaking on his programmes, Adeoti said he has told Governor Rauf Aregbesola, that he would continue his six point integral action plan and correct those areas that need implementation.
“I told Ogbeni Aregbesola at a programme that he can not finish the six point integral action and I would be the Governor to continue the programmes. I have noticed where there is need for implementation and I would correct it.”
Explaining how he will fund his campaign for the primary election Adeoti said, “Because I obeyed the party when they said we should not go out, some people are saying Adeoti that can not print vest or cap. Is not that I fear anybody. I will go out on Tuesday and you will all see.
Adeoti who was the first aspirant to begin his campaign activities at the party Secretariat, declared that his patience does not mean that he fears anybody, vowing that his formal declaration would surprise his critics.
He noted that people have been abusing him that he does not have money to prosecute governorship election because he didn’t go out on time.
He explained that he was patience because the party has warned the aspirants not to go out until the party lift ban on political activities.
Earlier the state chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famoodun described Adeoti as a politician who has seen all having being the party chairman during the era of Alliance for Democracy (AD).
He said he was not surprised by the crowd and support for Adeoti because he is a strong pillar in the party.
“Adeoti is a person that know the beginning of the party. He has been in the party since AD era before I joined during Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.
“If it is money, Buhari would not have won, if they are talking about politician that knows what people want, it is Adeoti. He has patience and he love the party very well,” he said.
