The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has explained why he left the peace meeting held at the residence of former governor of the state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola in Okuku.
Adeleke in a statement issued on Monday by his campaign organisation said he left the venue of the meeting to attend to urgent family matters.
Adeleke who described the meeting as ‘fruitful with commendable resolutions and conclusions’ said he accepted all the resolutions made.
He said: “I commend our leaders for the successful outcome of the meeting. I associate myself with the resolutions reached. PDP is now one big united family in Osun State. I accepted the resolutions reached even though I left afterwards to attend to urgent family matters.
“I urge PDP members to sustain the peace efforts and avoid spreading rumours that may derail the successful conclusion of the ongoing reconciliation moves.”
The party currently has six aspirants; Alhaji Fatahi Akinbade, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Ademola Adeleke, Sanya Omirin, Mr Dele Adeleke and Mr Dotun Babayemi.
