Will Declare Two Years "State of Emergency" on Education if Elected – Presidential Aspirant

One of the presidential aspirants contesting for the number one seat in the country Professor Mahmood Aliyu has said if giving the mandate and elected as the President of Nigeria come 2019 General Election under the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) he will announce  two years state of emergency on education sector so as to be able to perform a “thorough surgical operation” on the system.

He said in the course of the state of emergency, 30% of the country’s annual national budget will be allocated to education which he said will be properly utilized, monitored and accounted for.
Aliyu stated this while speaking at a press conference held over the weekend at the NUJ secretariat in Ilorin.
“On this note l professor Barrister Mahmood Muhibeedeen Aliyu wish to declare my aspiration to contest for the presidency of the federal republic of Nigeria on the platform of people’s Redemption Party(PRP) in 2019 General Elections.
“On the inauguration of PRP government at the centre under our supervision an executive order will be signed declaring a two years “state of emergency” on education as a result of this a thorough surgical operation will be performed on our education system,” he said.
According to him we need to break away from the past and present political misfortune and lay a solid political, social and economical foundations on a new slate of that can stand the test of time for the future progress of this country.
The aspirant who is also a legal luminary noted that woes that had befell our great country over the years has no hidden place.
The presidential aspirant added that rather than fighting corruption in the centre, the PRP government will tackle the element that breed corruption through comprehensive public declaration of assets, stoppage of discriminate salary system, monitoring of individual system and private practice by government employees to be banned.
He frown at “money politics” game adding that it will not lead us to a desirable height as a nation.
Aliyu observed the word “change” has been bastardize under this present administration as he said the country is due for transformation.
