The group chairman, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi has applauded Nigerian workers for their dedication and sacrifice, describing them as true heroes and backbone of the nation.

This was contained in a statement signed by Ogunbiyi’s media aid, Adetunji Ajayi, in commemoration of this year Workers’ Day.

According to the statement, the chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State also maintained that workers deserved accolades as never before for their huge sacrifice, passion and dedication towards the stability of the nation amidst living-threatening COVID-19 pandemic.

He showered encomium on the workers across the nation as well as appreciated all healthcare staff who are giving their best and tirelessly trying to flatten the curve of the pandemic.

“Without workers, for obvious reasons, the country cannot stand and would have been overwhelmed, particularly at this dangerous time. Nigerian workers are amazing. One cannot but be grateful to everyone especially those who are risking everything to make sure we conquer the virus.

“As we build back our nation and revive states, we must also pay attention to the needs of the nation builders. Workers are an essential part of every nation.

“Their dedication, passion and sacrifice should not be held with levity. Honouring the dignity of workers and making life bearable for people are integral indexes of sustainable developments. We thank Nigerian workers, and identify with workers in Osun State on the occasion of this year’s Workers’ day,” he stated.
