Yoruba Nation Protest: Agitators Defy Police, Hold Rally


Protesters seeking for Yoruba Nation on Saturday showed up at  Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota.

The protesters who came in their numbers when the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu was addressing journalists lamented the rising insecurity in the southwest, they also decried the attack on Sunday Igboho’s residence.

The protesters who surfaced around 10:40am  were seen chanting and displaying banners.

However, the police stood back and watched for some minutes.About 40 minutes after the agitation continued, police officers began spraying water at the protesters while advancing forward.

Gunshots were also fired into the air as protesters scamper for safety. The police were able to disperse the crowd.

An unconfirmed reports also said a girl of about fourteen years old was hit by a stray bullet at the Ojota area but the police have refuted such reports, noting  they will brief the press soon. Details Later…
