All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2019 governorship election in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has said he would not be part of governors who are against the minimum wage for civil servants in the country.
Chief Adelabu made the point during a meeting he held with members of Oyo State chapter of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) at the union headquarters, challenge, Ibadan.
According to him, workers welfare would be given utmost priority if elected governor of Oyo State in the 2019 governorship election.
“I will do everything possible to ensure that workers get their salary and other benefits as at when due. My administration will ensure you get your salary before month ending. I will provide free education, business friendly environment and good roads.
“We will bring in private partners to work on our road and bring back the glory of the state”.
Chief Adelabu who disclosed that he would employ quality information system to run his government said the era of workers being idle in office would become a thing of the past as training and retraining programmes would be designed to improve and better the lots of workers in the state.
Chief Adebayo who described himself as a 360 degree professional promised that his administration would take good care of pensioners adding that they would get their pay as at when due.
“There will be special programme designed to cater for the aged, women, children and people with disability.”
He assured the NULGE members that his administration if elected governor would support Local Government autonomy in order to improve promote and advance the working of local government administration in the state.
According to him, the development would come with accountability and such that would bring the desired development.
Speaking on god fatherism in politics, Chief Adelabu said god fatherism is inevitable since every upcoming politician need a leader to bring him up in the system.
“Our god fathers are our benefactors, and I can never be ungrateful to governor Ajimobi because he is my god father and benefactor. I will always be grateful to him”.
On Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, he said Oyo has to reclaim the institution adding that the school is owned by Oyo state.
“I don’t believe in joint ownership of the institution, the issues on LAUTECH is very sensitive, we have to reclaim its ownership, it belongs to Oyo State.”
Chief Adelabu called on the people to support his ambition and vote him into office in order to move the state forward with unprecedented development.
