As part of efforts to ensure that the campaign of family planning gets to the nooks and crannies of Kwara State, the Advocacy Core Group Nigeria(ACGN) is to partner with the giant telecommunication outfit MTN.

The Programme Officer, Pathfinder International, Mrs. Edirin Aderemi, made this disclosure during the stakeholder awareness programme for journalists on family planning in Ilorin on Friday.

Pathfinder International focuses on sexual and reproductive health issues without fear or boundary and would be supporting ACGN Kwara centre.  

“The Pathfinder is seeking partnership with MTN telecoms with this information would be made available to subscribers on Family Planning awareness,” she said. 

Aderemi said the awareness came to be knowing the space the Media occupy in the scheme of information dissemination which she said would wake those at the elms of affairs in government up to monitor and budget for Family planning in Nigeria

She called on the Media to use the tool they have to educate the leaders to realize funds meant for Family Planning across the state.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Group Alhaji Wahab Ajibola said the group would in no time extend the Family Planning programme to other un reached eleven Local Government Areas of the state

Ajibola urged the five reached Local Government Areas Chairmen to provide budget line for effective activities.

“I want to called on five LGs Chairmen we currently operate to provide budget line on family Planning for effective programme as we plan to extend family Planning to other Eleven LGs in the state,” he said.

Also speaking, the Deputy National President, National Association of Women Journalists(NAWOJ) Hajia Biliqees Oladimeji stressed that due to the importance of advocacy in any substantive agenda, Nigeria Urban Reproductive Health Initiative(NURHI) established Advocacy Core Group Nigeria(ACGN) with representative from Health Professionals committee and Faith base organization to create more awareness.
