A former presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC), and National Chairman of the party, Dr. Olapade Agoro has boasted that the party will win the governorship election coming up in Anambra State later this year.
Agoro made the assertion over the weekend, while hosting the party leaders from the South Eastern part of the country, led by the National Vice Chairman, Chief Emeka Obioyin, at his palatial residence in Apata, Ibadan.
Other NAC leaders at the forum included Hon. Anthony Nweke (Anambra State Chairman); Godwin Okpala (Imo State Chairman); Mazi Obi Okoro (Abia State Chairman); Mr. Vincent Nnadi (Enugu State Chairman) as well as Mallam Garba Mohammed Suleiman (Kaduna State Chairman).
Dr. Agoro revealed part of National Action Council’s winning strategies in the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election, saying that the party “has started making efforts towards fielding a solid governorship candidate for the polls.”
He declared that NAC, after securing its coming back into the nation’s political arena would leave no stone unturned at proving its political relevance to Nigeria by ensuring that the party becomes a party to beat in the 2019 general elections.
Speaking specifically on the visiting South East NAC leaders, Dr. Agoro described the unfolding political alignment in the NAC as a marriage of the East with the West just as he maintained that “the Igbo is a race not yet understood.”
He then urged the South East NAC leaders to join him and other members in moving the party forward in the coming years.
Responding, Chief Emeka Obioyin, the National Vice Chairman of the party, assured of the South-East NAC leaders of their commitment towards ensuring the party’s victory in the coming elections.
Obioyin lauded Dr. Agoro for his interest in the South East and pledged the team’s readiness to move the party to a greater heights in the geo-political zone.
