The third edition of the Sovereign Trust Insurance Golf Open Tournament will come to an end today with dignitaries expected to grace the closing ceremony.
According to the captain of the Ibadan Golf Club Prince Bayo Adeleke, the three day event which teed-off last Friday with about 350 golfers from across the country participating is expected to come to a glorious climax later today.
To spice up the closing ceremony, Prince Adeleke said dignitaries have been invited to grace the invited.
‘’All things been equal, we are expecting the Oyo State Government, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola among others.
This year’s Sovereign Trust Insurance Golf Open Tournament had in attendance top professional golfers from across various clubs in the country Sofola Nojimu from Miccom golf Ada, Friday Adache from Ilorin Golf Club, Nkemefuna from Ikoyi Golf Club while Bennard Nduka with other resident professional golfers while the Cadies competition was also included in the event for the first time.
Speaking further, Adeleke disclosed that the Sovereign Trust Golf Tournament has become a bride to other golf clubs because of its uniqueness and proper organisation as well as the high level of competition been displayed by the golfers.
In his remarks, the representative of the sponsor, Segun Bankole, Corporate Head, Sovereign Trust Insurance having commended the Ibadan Golf Club for its high standard during the previous tournament assured of a hitch free tournaments this weekend.
He thus informed that the insurance company will continue in the sponsorship of the tournament as part of its community social responsibility.
