The Chairmanship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and the winner of Saturday’s Council polls, Hon. Shamsondeen Abiodun Olaleye, has said his victory is an indication that he is people’s choice in the LCDA.
Olaleye said this, in an interview with newsmen. He said the election process was credible, free and fair as the electorate trooped out even as the weather was not too friendly and conducive.
The Chairman-elect, explained that the voting process, which the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) used for the election, was the best as electorate’s time were not wasted unlike the former voting process of doing accreditation and thereafter come back for voting.
“The voting process is the best. The electorate were not stressed by coming first to do accreditation and thereafter come back for voting which we used previously. I think doing accreditation and voting at the same time is better and save time. The voting system really added value to the election process,” said Olaleye.
Olaleye explained that he had drawn up a developmental template which he put in motion in his first term, stressing further he would use his second term to perfect the full implementation of the developmental template.
“In the first tenure, there were progressive programmes and projects which we have instituted like Bursary Award Scheme, Benefits to widows and Senior Citizens. We intend to continue with them expand the scope and improve on the quality of the programmes,” said Olaleye.
He added, “The youths have always been part of my government and there is no going to be any departure from that. The youths will always be part of the government.”
