It was dramatic yesterday night in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) first semi-final between Egypt and Burkina Faso as match finished 1-1 after extra time.
The Egyptian side got their ticket to the final slated for Sunday, after defeating Burkina Faso 4-3 on penalty shoot-out.
Mohamed Salah and Aristide Bance scored excellent second-half goals in a match dominated by the Burkinabe.
They seemed to be heading out when Burkina Faso goalkeeper, Herve Koffi, saved superbly from Abdallah Said with the first action of the shoot-out.
But after six flawless kicks from either side, Koffi brought it upon himself to take Burkina Faso’s fourth which was saved by his opponent Essam El Hadary .
Chelsea’s Bertrand Traore needing to score to keep the Stallions in the game but, he dove to his left and sent Egypt through.
Meanwhile, for the second semis, Cameroon will meets Ghana today to decide who will clash with Egypt in the 2017 AFCON on Sunday.
