Former Abia State governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, will soon be out been of Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.
Justice Mohammed Liman ordered that Kalu be released from jail following an application filed by his lawyer seeking that his December 2019 conviction be set aside.
The order has cleared the way for the Senator to return to the Senate.
The Supreme Court had earlier quashed the conviction of Kalu and others on the grounds that the judge of the Federal High Court which ordered his imprisonment came from his new promotion as Court of Appeal Justice to give the judgment.
