Ahead Lagos Council Polls, APC Chair Dies

Ahead of Saturday, July 22 Local Government election in Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress has been thrown into mourning in the state.

It is not that the party has lost the poll in any council yet, but the party lost its chairman in Itire/Ikate Local Council Development Area, Alhaji MBT Balogun.

Balogun slumped and died around midnight on Friday, July 21 while preparing for the election.

The party’s chieftains and election candidates for the poll particularly in Itire/Ikate have been mourning the loss at this critical time.

The chairman of the party in the state, Chief Henry Ajomale, could not be reached to confirm the demise. But the Chairman of the party’s Election Committee, Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, confirmed the death in a WhatsApp post on his phone on Saturday morning.
